             abstract = "The city of Aruj{\'a} presents a very visible environmental 
                         preservation, being considered one of the lungs of green area in 
                         the State and in the Metropolitan Region of S{\~a}o Paulo (MRSP). 
                         Of the natural resources, using best available and eco-efficient 
                         technologies the city have, for example, a system of selective 
                         waste collection developed, considered the best in the High 
                         Tiet{\^e} Region. As it is an area that is in great urban 
                         expansion and is significant for every state, it is necessary to 
                         carry out a study of the anthropic transformations through the 
                         application of geoprocessing techniques. This research aims to 
                         analyze the land use through surface temperature through 
                         geoprocessing techniques providing subsidies for territorial 
                         management. The materials used were made available by EMPLASA, in 
                         the elaboration of the land use map, aerial images with resolution 
                         of 45 centimeters and in the production of the surface temperature 
                         map, images of the Landsat-8 satellite, besides the applications 
                         of geographic information system Quantun Gis - version 2.8.1, 
                         standard of License and ArcGis. The present research concludes 
                         that the analyzes of both factors (land use and surface 
                         temperature) corroborate in a direct way, in which, it shows that 
                         the highest temperatures in the city of Aruj{\'a} are associated 
                         to the regions more urbanized, forming heat island, this effect, 
                         negative for the environment.",
